How to give Cursor access to your calls

Cursor’s agent works from your code. Give it your calls too, and it can read what was decided in the design review or asked for on the customer call before it starts. SwitchDesk records the calls on your Mac, and Cursor reads them over MCP with your key kept in the Keychain.

Before you start, read the call where we scoped the import and list the requirements.

Why give Cursor your calls

The agent is only as good as its brief. With your calls connected, the brief is the call itself, so the first pass is closer to what was agreed.

What to ask Cursor

  • “Before you start, read the call where we scoped the import and list the requirements.”

    ReadsSearches your calls and reads the one it finds.

  • “What did we decide about API rate limits on Tuesday’s call?”

    ReadsAnswers from that call’s notes.

  • “Check this branch against what Joe asked for on the call.”

    ReadsReads the call so the agent can compare it with your code.

  • “File the non-code follow-ups from that call in SwitchDesk.”

    ChangesAdds them to your list, or sends them as one card to approve.

Set it up

  1. SwitchDesk on your Mac

    Record a call

    Install SwitchDesk and record your next call: click Record Meeting in the menu bar, or Record on the countdown pill when the call starts. When it ends, the notes are ready: a summary, action items and the transcript.

  2. SwitchDesk and Cursor

    Connect Cursor

    On your Mac, open Settings → AI Access → Connect an AI → Terminal & coding tools (CLI). Then in Terminal: npm install -g switchdesk and switchdesk login (paste the key). In Cursor, add SwitchDesk to mcp.json:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "switchdesk": {
          "command": "switchdesk",
          "args": ["mcp"]
        }
      }
    }
  3. SwitchDesk on your Mac

    Switch on “Share meetings & notes with your AIs”

    It’s in Settings → AI Access. Enter the code we email you on “Confirm it’s you”. When SwitchDesk offers to include the past calls on this Mac, say yes to give Cursor your history.

  4. Cursor

    Ask about a call

    Start with something you can check, like “Before you start, read the call where we scoped the import and list the requirements.”

Cursor and Claude Code use the same tile, key and Keychain entry, so one setup covers both.

Want exact words? Tick “Include full transcripts” in the same place. SwitchDesk warns: “Other people’s exact words.” Then give Cursor Full control, or switch Transcripts on in Fine-tune. Summaries, action items and your own notes don’t need it.

Every call Cursor makes shows up in Activity on your Mac. Revoke ends the connection at once.

Which calls work

Any call whose audio plays through your Mac: Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, in the browser or the app. SwitchDesk records your voice and theirs on separate tracks, so there’s no bot in the participant list. On Google Meet in Chrome, it also names who said what. How SwitchDesk records calls.

Cursor and your calls: questions

How AI Access works →
Where does the key live?
In your macOS Keychain. switchdesk login stores it there and switchdesk mcp reads it, so it never sits in mcp.json or your repo.
Can Cursor hear my calls?
No. Cursor never gets audio. It reads the notes SwitchDesk writes after each call: the summary, the action items and your own notes, plus full transcripts only if you allow them.
Does a bot join my call?
No. SwitchDesk records your mic and your Mac’s call audio on separate tracks, so nobody on the call sees a bot. It doesn’t announce itself, so tell people you’re recording; laws vary by place.
Which call apps does this work with?
Any call whose audio plays through your Mac, in a browser or in an app like Zoom or Microsoft Teams. It’s tested most with Google Meet in Chrome, where it also names who said what. Elsewhere, transcript lines read Me and Them.
Can I keep a call private?
Yes. Mark the call “Never share this call” and it’s never copied. Switching off “Share meetings & notes with your AIs” removes everything shared.
Can Cursor change or delete my meeting notes?
No. Meeting access is read-only. Cursor can add to-dos from a call if you allow it, but the call’s notes stay as SwitchDesk wrote them.
What does it cost?
AI Access is part of Pro: $18/mo billed yearly, or $23 month to month. The 14-day trial is Pro, so it includes AI Access. The trial includes 10 hours of meeting notes. See pricing.

Give the agent the call, not your memory of it.
