How to give Claude access to your calls

Claude can’t sit in on your calls. SwitchDesk records them on your Mac, with no bot joining, and writes the notes when the call ends. Add SwitchDesk as a custom connector, and Claude can search those calls and work from what was said, on the web, in Claude Desktop or on your phone.

Compare what Lumora and Fernhill asked for on their calls this month.

Both want a pilot first. Lumora needs 12 seats for its support team; Fernhill asked about the API before anything else…

Why give Claude your calls

Claude is good at reading a lot and writing it up carefully. Give it three calls and it writes the brief. Give it two customers and it tells you where they differ. Paste a draft and it checks it against what you promised.

What to ask Claude

  • “Read my last three calls with Lumora and write a one-page brief.”

ReadsFinds the calls, reads their notes and writes the brief.

  • “Compare what Lumora and Fernhill asked for on their calls this month.”

ReadsSearches both customers’ calls and lays the asks side by side.

  • “Check this proposal against what I promised Joe on Tuesday.”

ReadsReads that call and points out anything the draft misses.

  • “What did I commit to on calls this week?”

ReadsCollects your action items from this week’s calls.

  • “Add those to SwitchDesk, due Friday.”

ChangesAdds each one to your to-do list with the date, or sends them as one card to approve.

Set it up

  1. SwitchDesk on your Mac

    Record a call

Install SwitchDesk and record your next call: click Record Meeting in the menu bar, or Record on the countdown pill when the call starts. When it ends, the notes are ready: a summary, action items and the transcript.

  2. SwitchDesk and Claude

    Connect Claude

On your Mac, open Settings → AI Access → Connect an AI → Claude and pick how much it may do. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector, paste https://mcp.switchdesk.org/mcp and click Continue. Sign in with your SwitchDesk email. Full Claude setup.

  3. SwitchDesk on your Mac

Switch on “Share meetings & notes with your AIs”

It’s in Settings → AI Access. Enter the code we email you on “Confirm it’s you”. When SwitchDesk offers to include the past calls on this Mac, say yes to give Claude your history.

  4. Claude

    Ask about a call

Start with something you can check, like “Read my last three calls with Lumora and write a one-page brief.”

Want exact words? Tick “Include full transcripts” in the same place. SwitchDesk warns: “Other people’s exact words.” Then give Claude Full control, or switch Transcripts on in Fine-tune. Summaries, action items and your own notes don’t need it.

Which calls work

Any call whose audio plays through your Mac: Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, in the browser or the app. SwitchDesk records your voice and theirs on separate tracks, so there’s no bot in the participant list. On Google Meet in Chrome, it also names who said what. How SwitchDesk records calls.

Claude and your calls: questions

How AI Access works →
Can Claude take meeting notes?
Not on its own. Claude can’t join a call or hear it. SwitchDesk takes the notes on your Mac, and Claude reads them through the connector.
Does it work in the Claude phone app?
Yes. Add the connector once and it works on claude.ai, in Claude Desktop and in the Claude mobile apps.
Can Claude hear my calls?
No. Claude never gets audio. It reads the notes SwitchDesk writes after each call: the summary, the action items and your own notes, plus full transcripts only if you allow them.
Does a bot join my call?
No. SwitchDesk records your mic and your Mac’s call audio on separate tracks, so nobody on the call sees a bot. It doesn’t announce itself, so tell people you’re recording; laws vary by place.
Which call apps does this work with?
Any call whose audio plays through your Mac, in a browser or in an app like Zoom or Microsoft Teams. It’s tested most with Google Meet in Chrome, where it also names who said what. Elsewhere, transcript lines read Me and Them.
Can I keep a call private?
Yes. Mark the call “Never share this call” and it’s never copied. Switching off “Share meetings & notes with your AIs” removes everything shared.
Can Claude change or delete my meeting notes?
No. Meeting access is read-only. Claude can add to-dos from a call if you allow it, but the call’s notes stay as SwitchDesk wrote them.
What does it cost?
AI Access is part of Pro: $18/mo billed yearly, or $23 month to month. The 14-day trial is Pro, so it includes AI Access. The trial includes 10 hours of meeting notes. See pricing.

Give Claude the calls, not a summary of them.
