This week’s recap: a short summary, then Definitely did, Might have done and On your list.

Pick Today or This week. The AI text is an example.

Sources

Built from your to-dos, calls, dictations and calendar.

What you checked off counts as done. Everything else it guessed waits for your answer.

Fig. 1: Recap reads your to-dos, meetings, dictations and calendar. To-dos you checked off and what you agreed to on a call go to “Definitely did”. Dictations, calendar events and call action items you didn’t accept go to “Might have done”, where you confirm them.

Fig. 1 — What a recap reads, and which list each source feeds.

Did or didn’t

Checked-off to-dos count as done. Anything it guessed waits for you.

  • “Definitely did” holds the to-dos you checked off and what you agreed to out loud on a call.
  • “Might have done” holds what it guessed from a dictation, your calendar or an action item you didn’t accept.
  • “Did” moves a line up, “Didn’t” drops it, “On my list” keeps it to add as a to-do.

It remembers your answer for that period.

5:30 PM — Copy for standup

Paste your day into standup without retyping it.

  • “Copy for standup” copies the summary and everything under “Definitely did”, ready for Slack: a bold heading per category, then bullets. “Copy as text” copies the same as Markdown.
  • Each category has its own copy buttons, so Fernhill goes to standup without Family.
  • Things you weren’t sure about stay out until you answer “Did”.

Recap keeps a log of what you dictate and check off.

An AI model writes each recap from that period’s log, calls and calendar. Here’s how the app describes the log itself:

“What’s recorded: the text of your dictations, which category you complete todos in, and a rough sense of the kind of app (email, chat, message…) — never the app’s name. It stays on this Mac, auto-deletes after your retention window, and you can clear it or turn it off any time.”

No. Calendar access only adds your events. Without it, Recap works from your dictations, to-dos and meetings.
How far back can it go?
As far as your history: “Keep history for” is 30 days, 60 days, 90 days or 1 year. Recaps you’ve generated are kept regardless. Settings → Dictation
Does Recap log what I type?
No. It logs only what you dictate and the to-dos you check off. Password managers are excluded by default, and you can add any app under “Don’t log from these apps”.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. Switch off “Activity & Recap” in Settings → Dictation. You can also clear the log any time.
Which plan includes Recap?
