Unscheduled calls name themselves

A call you record from the menu bar starts as “New Meeting”, then takes a three-to-six-word name from what was said. Calls from your calendar keep their title.

Meeting Notes questions

More in Help →
Does a bot join the call?
No. SwitchDesk records your mic and the call’s audio as two tracks on your Mac, so nobody new appears in the participant list.
Which call apps does it work with?
Any call app whose audio plays through your Mac. Names need Google Meet in Chrome; on other apps, transcript lines read “Me” and “Them”.
Do I need to tell people I’m recording?
Yes. SwitchDesk doesn’t announce itself in the call, so tell people you’re recording. Laws vary by place.
Where are recordings kept, and what is sent?
The recording stays on your Mac. During the call, the audio streams to our transcription provider for captions and the transcript; after it, the transcript goes to an AI model for the notes. What leaves your Mac →
What happens if I go over my hours?
Recording never stops. Notes for the extra calls are generated at reset or when you upgrade, and your history is never locked.
Can I write notes before the call?
Yes. Click the call in Calendar and type your agenda; when you record it, those notes are already in the notepad. Meeting prep notes on your calendar →
Can I search old meetings?
Yes. Search finds words, people and moments, and “Ask me about any past meetings” answers across all your calls with a link to each moment. Essential includes 15 questions a month; Pro is unlimited.
