How to give Claude Code access to your calls
What you’re building was often decided on a call. Connect Claude Code to SwitchDesk and it can search your calls and read what the customer asked for before it writes a line. It works over MCP or the switchdesk CLI, and your key stays in the macOS Keychain.
- No bot in your call
- Recorded on your Mac
- About 5 minutes to set up
Find the call where Lumora asked for CSV export and list what they want.

From the Lumora kickoff: one CSV per team, UTF-8, dates as YYYY-MM-DD, and a column for the agent’s name…
Why give Claude Code your calls
Requirements drift between the call and the code. When Claude Code can read the call itself, it works from what was said, and you stop pasting notes into the terminal.
What to ask Claude Code
“Find the call where Lumora asked for CSV export and list exactly what they want.”
ReadsSearches your calls and reads the one it finds.
“Write the decisions from yesterday’s design review into docs/decisions.md.”
ReadsReads the call’s notes. Claude Code writes the file; SwitchDesk only supplies the call.
“What bugs did customers mention on calls this week?”
ReadsSearches this week’s calls and lists them with the call each came from.
“Add a SwitchDesk to-do for each follow-up from that call that isn’t code.”
ChangesAdds them to your list, or sends them as one card to approve.

Ask about a call
Start with something you can check, like “Find the call where Lumora asked for CSV export and list exactly what they want.”
You can also read calls straight from the terminal: switchdesk meetings search "csv export", switchdesk meetings list --since 7d, switchdesk meetings get ID, and switchdesk meetings transcript ID when transcripts are allowed.
Want exact words? Tick “Include full transcripts” in the same place. SwitchDesk warns: “Other people’s exact words.” Then give Claude Code Full control, or switch Transcripts on in Fine-tune. Summaries, action items and your own notes don’t need it.
What Claude Code can and can’t see
| From your calls | Claude Code |
|---|---|
| Summaries and action items | Yes, once you share your calls |
| Your own notes from the call | Yes |
| Search across every shared call | Yes |
| Full transcripts | Only with “Include full transcripts” and Full control |
| The audio | Never |
| Calls marked “Never share this call” | Never |
| Editing or deleting your notes | Never |
Every call Claude Code makes shows up in Activity on your Mac. Revoke ends the connection at once.
Which calls work
Any call whose audio plays through your Mac: Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, in the browser or the app. SwitchDesk records your voice and theirs on separate tracks, so there’s no bot in the participant list. On Google Meet in Chrome, it also names who said what. How SwitchDesk records calls.
